Introduction

Welcome to the Stephenson (MK) Trust Post 16 Centre website.  I am a firm believer in the philosophy that ‘education opens doors’ and at our provision we do nothing but focus on the next steps for our students no matter their individual starting points.

Our vision at Post 16 is to develop all of our students academically and empower them with employability skills, so that they feel able to make positive and successful choices for their future and in the community.  This may include moving onto college, a mainstream sixth form, apprenticeships or full time employment after they finish with us at Post 16.

My journey with the trust started as a science teacher at Stephenson Academy in 2017 and in 2021 I became the Assistant Principal for the Post 16 Centre when it was located at the Coffee Hall site.  We have since redesigned our learning space and moved to Oakwood Drive in Fenny Stratford to deliver a creative curriculum that both supports student interest and challenges them to achieve more than what they thought possible beyond secondary school.  We want every young person that begins their journey with us at Post 16 to leave in a better position to fulfill their career dreams.  We are holistic in our approach and our character development programme focuses on progressing young people both academically and socially to be upstanding members of their community.  We have an ethos at Post 16 that both challenges our young people to be independent thinkers, and embrace the opportunities Post 16 can offer.

This year we will be celebrating 5 years of being open to young people and our 2023 results were our best ever to date.  So do explore our curriculum pages and results page for an insight into how we are changing lives.
